Best bakery around. Makes the best Getman bread in Texas. Their cakes and pastries are also outstanding. The dinner selections are good. They do need to add a green salad to their menu. Staff is always friendly.

I’ve been going to Kempner Brick Oven for about 30 years. The original Owner was a great Lady all the other ones were too. The current Owners are nicewith the exception of their Son and the German lady named Lola. This Women told my Husband and myself through another employee that she doesn’t like me. I have not done anything to this woman ever. If she has anything to say to me she can go through her Bosses who where there at the time. She needs to maybe take better care of herself and tone down her voice, it sounds annoying at times. Maybe her employer doesn’t care either. Otherwise the restaurant is a nice little place, the food is always good, has always been. Hopefully the lady server improves one day.I give four stars for the food, bread and baked goods,as far as the attitude of the above mentioned serverI give only one star. Hopefully they read this and and she improves.

This is the first German food we have had since we were over in Constance Germany. My husband's company, Siemens, had him over there for meetings. The food was the best we have ever eaten. We never, in a hundred years, thought we would ever taste any food in the United States that tasted even close to all the fantastic meals we had over there until last night. A friend told us he had eaten at a little German restaurant in Kempner Texas. The name of this restaurant is Brick Oven. Well were we ever so supprised. Everything we ate tasted just like we were still in Germany. It is just a small restaurant and bakery, but the best food of all of the german restaurants we have eaten at here in Texas. I give them a big 5 Star rating in food and the people there. In a rating of 1 to 10, I give them a 14+.

If you're looking for great German food and bakery items make this stop. I love the staff here. It feels like stepping back to Germany. Like going home.

Small family run business, owner gave us a was greeting as we sat down and thanked us for joining them. Food was great, family atmosphere gave it that touch of home. Will recomend.

Oh my goodness!! The best selection of baked goods and desserts to be found. The most delicious cheese cake I have eaten anywhere. They have this fluffly sponge cake filled with sweet whipped cream and Mandarin orange slices that is worth fighting over the last slice. The owners are delightful and after one visit, you will definitely be coming back for more!

Great pretzel and pretzel roles . Draft beer is cold And very reasonable for a good beer. They Make their own German bread as well, my mom loves it. Wait staff a little short handed but they get by ;). Food is always good. Cucumber salad needs salad some seasoning and Maggi. Red cabbage was delicious. My son loves the schnitzel ,Spätzle and gravy.

5 STARS ALL AROUND! Best German food in Central Texas, we come 45 mins away when we are really craving it. Impeccable service & the owner’s son seems to be running things and doing well at it. When you have the owner in the building, hands on, interacting with the guests & employees there’s nothing that beats it. Will never go anywhere else when we want German, ALSO try their dark German beer they have on draft, it’s tasty!!!!

Kempner Brick Oven is a quaint small German style restaurant and bakery. The food that I had was pretty tasty and plentiful. Great selections of local and German beers to choose from as well. Make sure you save room for dessert, there selections of cakes and pies are fabulous for sure! It’s a great stop off place when traveling on 190. The place is clean and people are friendly.

I worked there about 26 years ago. I believe the owner's name was Sylvia. She let us take the unsold bread and pastries at the end of the day which help alot because minimum wage was 4.25 back then. Everything was delicious then as I'm sure it still is today

We really enjoyed our visit here. The food was definitely enjoyable and very filling. Service was great! It seemed like everyone here was in a good mood, customers included. Even my kiddos, one of whom can be a very picky eater, enjoyed The Brick Oven! We will definitely be back! Visit early in the day for the best selection of baked goods. Be aware, there may be a wait since seating is limited. It is worth the wait though.

Great little German bakery and restaurant! The owners and staff make you feel like family when you come in. I especially appreciate the meeting room and catering service. And the food is amazing. The pretzels and cakes are enough to stop for. Definitely worth a visit if you're anywhere near here.

Grain bread is nothing like the german bakery in Harker Heights. Its dry and not as many grains. They have cut back on ingredients, tasted old here at the kempner bakery. Will not come again. This is the third time its happened here in a month of shopping here.

I love this place.Pizza, German food, cakes, bread, and lunch meats. Never have had a bad meal and the folks there are the best. This place is what most folks remember when they come to Kempner!

We love Brick Oven though we have long wait times to go back and forth to their because we moved to Waco, but they have great knowlegable and pleasant staff, they go above and beyond to help you. Their food is 100% authentic, and reminds me of the bakeries in Germany. I wish there was some way we could move back to Germany, but settle for Brick Oven in Kempner.

If you don't put in a order you better get there early the good stuff goes fast.

If you are into pastries and bread this is the spot. You have to try the pretzel balls when they just come out of the oven Yummy!

I may have only had the schnitzel and pizza here, but I can assure you both are good! Their deserts will definitely hit a person's sweet tooth. I loved it.

Staff of very friendly and quick to help or offer requested recommendations. Food is always fresh and at an appropriate temperature. The pastries and baked goods are never a disappointment.
